Our journey today began in the historic town of Úbeda in the early morning hours. As we set out onto the open road, the air carried a noticeable chill that served as a crisp wake-up call for the day's route ahead. Leaving behind the architectural landmarks of the town, we set our course westward toward our midday stop in Córdoba.
The early portion of the drive gave us an immediate sense of the expansive terrain of southern Spain. Even as the early chill lingered, the open skies promised clear traveling conditions as we transitioned away from the elevated areas of the province of Jaén and made steady progress toward the lower plains of the Guadalquivir river basin.
Midday Respite and Local Flavors in Córdoba
Around midday, we pulled into Córdoba for a scheduled lunch break and a brief opportunity to stretch our legs. The pause was well worth it, as we treated ourselves to a classic Spanish lunch consisting of an exceptional bocadillo with jamón. The simple yet high-quality local ham provided the perfect fuel before we prepared for the second half of our daily transit.
While our time in the city was short, the stop provided a welcome interruption to the driving routine, allowing us to recharge comfortably before getting back on the motorway for the afternoon stretch.

From a purely technical driving perspective, the route offered very little variation or excitement. The entire stage was completed along modern multi-lane motorways, which favored efficiency and steady transit over winding scenic curves or challenging maneuvers.

Once settled into Seville, we spent an enjoyable and lively evening filled with laughter, good conversation, and vibrant city atmosphere. The relaxed evening provided an ideal conclusion to a straightforward day of cross-regional driving.

Reflecting on the day, the stage served as an interesting and necessary link connecting the interior provinces of Andalusia with its regional capital. The steady progress enabled us to cover considerable ground smoothly while observing the changing terrain.
